Here again he surfaces
From the depths below sundown
With unnerved pleading dilated
Eyes pooled red
Remnants of broken vessel
Upon the body
He perches
Calling for a drip drip drip
Of soul
Enough to fuel the tread through the dark
Until the light renews
No reason
Or fortitude of spirit
Repulses
The ceaseless pleading haggling mewling
Open the spigot
Relent the vein
Satiated
The gleaming imp vows
Leniency for the coming days
Withholding
An appetite
Without measurable floor
